Since 1998, Peppers Pizzeria has been the place for delicious pizza in the Houma-Thibodaux area. As the restaurant has grown, so has its menu, which now sports a wide variety of Italian, Creole, Cajun-inspired American food.
After managing their existing branding for several years, Peppers Pizzeria was finally ready for a small rebrand. Starting with a new menu design and branching off from there, I focused on the restaurant's reputation as a locally-owned, family-friendly dive to create a fun brand that was reminiscent of old mom-and-pop Italian eateries. This included updating the old brand's red, gold, and brown color palette to a vivid red, green, and white (like the Italian flag). A modern brush script and a textured san serif typeface were introduced to give the brand a handmade local feel—inspired by handwritten chalkboards seen outside many a local eatery, in both Italy and the United States.
